Bundjalung woman, chef and author, Mindy Woods, has partnered with profit-for-purpose hotel and restaurant, Song Hotel and Song Kitchen, for the launch of its inaugural Supper Series, Purposeful Plates.

The new partnership will see Woods co-host the first Supper Series event on Wednesday October 1st, commencing a special two-week collaboration menu available at Song Kitchen from October 2nd-15th.

In line with Song Hotel and Song Kitchen's profit-for-purpose models, 100 per cent of profits from both the event and the collaborative menu will be directed to YWCA Australia who provide housing, services and leadership pathways for women and gender diverse people.

As Song Kitchen launches its first Supper Series, the collaboration with Woods marks a new step in aligning the hotel's culinary program with its broader mission.

"We are delighted to welcome Mindy to lead our first Supper Series", Song Hotel general manager Jon Ackary said.

"Song Hotel is built on the belief that hospitality should have purpose, and Mindy's work perfectly embodies that mission. This collaboration allows us to showcase not only incredible food, but also the values of culture, sustainability, and community that underpin everything we do.

"Purposeful Plates is about creating memorable dining experiences that leave a lasting impact, and having Mindy at the helm sets the perfect tone for what this series is all about."

Recently honoured with the 2025 Champions of Change award by The World's 50 Best Restaurants, Woods has become a leading advocate for native Australian cuisine. Through her work, she brings Indigenous ingredients and centuries of First Nations food knowledge into the spotlight.

Woods said she was initially drawn to partnering with Song Hotel and Song Kitchen as their values align closely with hers.

"At the very heart, we all share a strong focus on culture, sustainability, and community," Woods said.

"These aren't just hospitality spaces, these venues exist to nurture meaningful connections, celebrate diverse stories, and amplify voices that are often overlooked.

"The menu we've created for Song's inaugural supper series celebrates native ingredients and First Nations flavours alongside contemporary techniques, and I hope diners leave with a sense of wonder, curiosity, and respect for Indigenous food culture, seeing it as both modern and deeply rooted in tradition."

Mindy Woods x Song Kitchen Collaboration Menu is available at Song Kitchen from October 2nd-15th. The intimate dining experience is strictly limited, so early bookings are recommended to avoid disappointment.
