Canadian Indigenous hip hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids will return to Australia in 2026, expanding their reach with their first performances in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
The Haisla Nation rappers continue to blend cultural storytelling with modern sounds, following the success of their 2024 album Red Future, which earned them the 2025 Juno Award for Rap Album of the Year being the first Indigenous artists to do so.
The album was also long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize.
First Nations excellence will feature throughout the tour with Malyangapa and Barkindji rapper BARKAA joining as co-headliner for the Australian shows and Tāmaki Makaurau artist Rei supporting in Aotearoa.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids will open their run at Perth Festival on 21 February before heading down the east coast with BARKAA, then across the Tasman to perform with Rei.
The duo said their connection with audiences across the region continues to grow.
"Australia is like our home away from home," they said.
"As Indigenous people from Turtle Island (USA), we can relate to the struggles of Indigenous people in Australia.
"Every time we come, it's nothing but love and we're stoked to be back and playing shows in both Australia and New Zealand this time around."
BARKAA said the collaboration carries deep cultural meaning.
"I'm so honoured to be joining my First Nations brothers, SNRK, on their tour next year," she said.
"Connection is everything for us mob and sharing culture! To be able to continue the song-lines of our old people and putting power back into my people means everything to me. LAND BACK!"
The tour also celebrates a partnership with Bad Apples Music, the Indigenous-led label founded by Briggs, which marks its tenth anniversary in 2025.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids said audiences can expect an energetic return.
"This all started with the Perth Festival reaching out and bringing us onto their festival and we're excited to play Perth for the first time," they said.
"We can promise you energy, energy, energy on this next tour. See you on the road."
