The Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT) has opened entries for its annual Art Show, which will again be celebrated in December.

KHT's annual Koorie Art Show is an open-entry, non-acquisitive award exhibition which is open to all First Peoples artists, designers and crafts people whether emerging, mid-career or senior, with entries able to be made by all Indigenous artists living in Victoria.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for all First Peoples living in Victoria to showcase their art," KHT chief executive officer Tom Mosby said.

"This is an open-call for entry and we accept all artworks.

"All you need to do is submit an entry form by the due date for your work to be accepted.

"The exhibition launch is a wonderful community day of support and celebration and I encourage all artists to enter and join us in another exciting year for the Koorie Art Show."

The Koorie Art Show showcases traditional and contemporary work in a variety of mediums, from digital illustrations to paintings, prints, textiles, ceramics, while highlighting the cultural richness of First People creativity and provides a snapshot of what is happening now in First Peoples art from across Victoria.

All entries will be independently judged for a range of Awards, with cash prizes.

The Koorie Art Show for Young Mob, now in its ninth year, is also open for entry, and showcases the diverse talent of Victoria's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists aged between 5 and 16 years.

All visual arts mediums are eligible with previous exhibitions including painting, drawing, photography, textiles, prints, sculpture, video and installation.

The Koorie Art Show is proudly supported by Creative Victoria, City of Melbourne, Indigenous Visual Arts Industry Support Program, the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body, RMIT University, Lendlease, Viva Energy Australia and Fed Square.

Entries for the Koorie Art Show close midnight, Monday 28 September 2026.

The Koorie Art Show will be held from Saturday 5 December 2026 to Sunday 11 July 2027 at the Koorie Heritage Trust, Birrarung Building, Fed Square, Melbourne.
