Baagi Milaygiin is an Aboriginal-owned range of naturally made bush beauty products created by Deb Munson and inspired by her grandmothers' spirits.
The product line includes body wash, scrubs, sun spray, bubble bath, oils, balms and a range of beauty and wellness treatments. They draw from the beauty, truth and healing knowledge of a strong ancestral line.
Baagi Milaygiin products are ethically made and sustainable using native Australian ingredients.
Founder, Aunty Deborah Munson is a Gomeroi and Dharug woman from Coonabarabran, now living on Birpai country near Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast.
The business' name acknowledges her mother, Nana Leslie, a proud Gomeroi woman, and Nana Smith, a proud Dharug woman.
Aunty Deb's pathway began in hair and beauty, with more than 38 years' experience and two salons she owned and operated.
Employment and mentoring sit within that history, alongside a long record of work with Aboriginal women and girls.
The community has frequently called on her to deliver youth workshops focused on self-esteem, and standing in your power as a woman.
Those sessions have been held across settings including TAFE, jail, juvenile detention and NAIDOC gatherings.
This is how Ms Munson describes her background and the shift into Baagi Milaygiin.
"I have a background in hair and beauty 42 years and owned and operated creating employment," Ms Munson said.
"I now my own business-Baagi Milaygiin Grandmothers Spirit."

The bush beauty range is positioned as a continuation of knowledge handed down through family.
Native plants are central to the ingredients and methods she describes.
"I create bush beauty products from knowledge handed down to me using native plants," Ms Munson said.
"I also did a Cert 3 in Bush Tucker Horticulture course at TAFE Wollingbar 2015 and placed everything together of my knowledge.
"I incorporate my products into modern ways for my spa treatments as well as healing properties."

Healing and wellbeing services take a holistic approach that includes planting medicine trees, manufacturing products, an Aboriginal day spa, healing services, and community connection.
Wellbeing workshops use beauty products from the range made naturally from Australian bush tucker and ochre, and are framed as teaching self-care for mental wellness.
The workshops offer a mobile day spa, with options for online groups over Zoom, working with youth groups as well as older demographics.
She notes corporate wellbeing is about sharing knowledge and cultural practices in a modern way through food and skincare, with a focus on enhancing mental wellness within workplaces.
Those corporate sessions assist community leaders in high pressure work environments to help alleviate mental stress through self care practices.
Trading Blak and Jarrin Street are listed as current key stockists for the producted, as well as the Baagi Milaygiin website.
The range is also stocked at the Discovery Centre in Baradine in the Warrumbungles and at NAIDOC Sydney.
