Indigenous/Torres Strait reggae band South Summit has announced their sophomore album 'RUN IT BACK,' set for release on Friday June 12.
The band has also released a new single and video, 'ON THE DASH' - a laid-back groove built for open roads and enjoying the moment.
The track was written during a session at Emerald Studios with Six60 guitarist Marlon Gerbes.
South Summit explored a bounce-rock groove, experimenting with chord patterns and drawing inspiration from the rhythmic style and sonic palette of Pharrell Williams.
The video was filmed spontaneously as they were stopped at a service station before a Ballarat show.
"The video was our least thought-out, but we had the most fun doing it," the band said.
Previous releases 'TOP OF THE HILL' and 'WE ARE' received widespread support, including first plays on triple j Drive and rotation across triple j and Unearthed, and reached the Top 50 Most Played songs.
They took their music on tour at the end of 2025 around Australia and have already announced more tour dates in Europe, ending with a few shows on home soil.
They reflected on the personal nature of the upcoming album.
"We feel like every project we do, we're sharing a piece of ourselves to the world, so it's a very vulnerable thing," the band said.
"RUN IT BACK is a whole two years of our lives in 50 minutes that we get to share with people who have supported us and resonated with our stories.
"So this means everything to us."
South Summit will make their Bluesfest debut in April.
They are also scheduled to perform at Always Good Nights in Port Hedland and support L.A.B. in Townsville.
The band will tour the UK and Europe with The Terrys for a 15-date run in March before returning home.
Tickets can be purchased online.
