Māori roots reggae band Katchafire will team up with Warnindhilyagwa artist Emily Wurramara for a new version of 'Giddy Up', the next single from the band's forthcoming Revival 2.0 Guest Edition album.
The collaboration will be released on September 4, ahead of the album's arrival on November 27.
The Revival 2.0 Guest Edition album brings together roots and reggae voices from around the world, with further collaborations set to be announced before the record is released.
Ms Wurramara said Katchafire's music had been part of significant moments throughout her life and described joining the project as an honour.
"I'm so honoured to be a part of this album for Katchafire," she said.
"Their music has been a soundtrack for so many beautiful moments in my life, so to be covering a big song like "Giddy Up" and pay respect to these legends is just so special.
The release comes as Katchafire continues its Revival World Tour, beginning with two New Zealand shows in Ruakākā and Auckland at the end of August.
The band will then tour the United States throughout September, with dates across California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
Jordan T will join Katchafire as a special guest for the opening week of the US leg before the band supports J-Boog for several shows.
Katchafire will travel to New Caledonia in October for the Guidance Festival in Bourail before beginning a five-week Australian tour.
The Australian leg starts on October 15 and will take the band through Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria before finishing in Sydney on November 14.
Mike Love will join Katchafire as special guest throughout the Australian run, with limited early bird tickets currently on sale.
Katchafire has spent more than 25 years combining reggae rhythms with Māori influences and has developed an international following through its recordings and live performances.
The band's music has regularly focused on family, unity and cultural pride, while helping bring Māori music and Pacific reggae to audiences internationally.
Revival 2.0 Guest Edition will continue that approach through a collection of collaborations with artists from across the roots and reggae scene.
'Giddy Up' featuring Emily Wurramara will be released on September 4 and is available to pre-save now, while Revival 2.0 Guest Edition can also be pre-saved ahead of its November 27 release.
