Brodie George of Jalayimiya Swim has been recognised for her swimwear label's success, with the talented designer named as a finalist in the Indigenous Business Excellence category for the 2025 AusMumpreneur Awards.
Created by sisters Peace Mitchell and Katy Garner, the AusMumpreneur Awards celebrate the achievements of Australian mums in business across a range of categories including business excellence, product innovation, customer service, sustainability and technology.
"There are so many incredible women right across Australia balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship, and these awards are a chance to share their stories and celebrate their success," said Ms Garner.

A proud Walmajarri woman from Fitzroy Crossing, now based in Boorloo/Perth, Ms George's Jalayimiya Swim label is known for its bold, hand-painted swimwear that honours Country, womanhood and body diversity.
Jalayimiya Swim is inspired by the colourful desert art of George's Elders and her deep love for the beach. She created a brand that reflects both her cultural roots and her lived experiences as a mum of two. With her husband working FIFO, the muli-talented creative balances parenting, business and community work with a lot of resilience and confidence.

"Building a business on your own terms while raising a family is tough, but it's also incredibly rewarding. I get to show my kids that our culture, our stories and our bodies deserve to be seen and celebrated," she said.
It can be challenging to be a successful businesswoman while raising a family, and George offers this advice to others thinking about starting their own venture.
"Be delusionally confident. Back yourself. Stay authentic. And when it gets hard — which it will — keep going anyway," she said.

"This event offers women an opportunity to find connection, support and inspiration while also celebrating their success with others who understand the journey of business and parenting," said AusMumpreneur co-founder Ms Mitchell.
The AusMumpreneur Conference includes keynote speakers, networking sessions, workshops and panel discussions focused on leadership, visibility and business growth. It is designed to support women at all stages of business, whether just starting out or scaling nationally.
Thanks to support from Business Events Victoria, this year's event will be held in regional Victoria for the first time.
The event will culminate in a glamorous awards gala at the AusMumpreneur Conference on 11th – 12th of August in Geelong, where the 2025 AusMumpreneur Award winners will be announced.
