Young Noongar rapper Inkabee dropped his infectious new single 'Vibez' last week.

The track draws on his time in Canada and continues his shift towards an RnB sound.

He told National Indigenous Times the song came together after hearing Uncle Russh working on the beat while overseas.

"We were all just in Canada, and I heard Uncle Russh making this beat," Inkabee said.

"So, I walked down and heard this crazy melody line that he was doing, with a crazy base, such a cool beat.

"And just being in Canada and seeing how much of a different place it was to Perth - it was such a cool vibey spot and inspired me to write a song about the vibes."

Inkabee said his move into RnB started earlier and grew from there.

Working on his previous track 'Fall' helped shape that direction.

"It started when I was making Fall with Uncle Solo... I kind of fell in love with it when I first made that song," he said.

"Also I just started listening to a whole bunch of RnB, so I just stuck to it."

The lyrics match the vibe of the track, encouraging listeners to kick back and let the music do its thing.

"I'm cruising down the street and I just put my headphones on,

starting to rain so I think I need that typa song,

but I don't what it is now gotta be quick now,

coz soon the rain gon go away and the sun gon be out"

He said he wants listeners to hear the song in the right moment noting it was made to suit a certain feeling.

"I hope people to listen to it at the perfect moment, that's the main thing," Inkabee said.

"That's what I like to do, find songs, and listen to them in the perfect moment.

"So what I want for 'Vibez', is late at night, or when you're on a plane, or any cool moment, you just chuck on 'Vibez'."

'Vibez' is available on all platforms now.
