CASETiFY launches new collaboration with First Nations artists ahead of NAIDOC Week

Phoebe Blogg -

Launched just ahead of NAIDOC Week, CASETiFY has debuted their newest collaboration with First Nations artists Rachael Sarra (from Goreng Goreng Country) and Kimberly Engwicht (connected to the Bundajulung people from northern NSW).

Blending art, culture and innovation, the collaborative collections "strive to celebrate the vibrancy and depth of First Nations artistry", amplifying the talents of the artists.

The Rachel Sarra X CASETiFY collection showcases how Sarra draws inspiration from her surroundings and loved ones. Sarra's contemporary designs fuse culture and emotion, through her art, she offers a glimpse into her world using bold colours and vivid shapes.

The new K-Rae X CASETiFY collection is a love letter to Country. From golden sunsets to native wildlife, each design featured in this collection is a joyful escape into nature—where colour meets culture, and creativity connects us.

"The collection is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds me here in Australia. I'm constantly in awe of the landscapes—especially those magic moments at sunset when the sky lights up and casts golden, pink and purple hues across the mountains," said Engwicht.

"That colour play is something I always come back to. Australia's flora and fauna are also a huge source of inspiration for me. We're lucky to have such unique wildlife, so I wanted to celebrate some of my favourites and bring them to life in my own bold, playful style."

Sarra said she was also heavily influenced by her surroundings and Australia's natural environments.

"The inspo behind this collection is deeply connected to the environments we have been navigating and often felt like we couldn't escape. This collection is a resistance of succumbing to the void and numbness of our minds," she said.

"Instead inviting ourselves to let go, to trust that certain things can flow through us rather than plague us, if we allow them to. It's also quite ethereal, allowing us to transcend reality that we create in our minds, and instead understand above all else. We are our own creators.

"The collection theme is finding home within yourself again. It's an ethereal ode to self-love and resistance.

"I think only artists would understand or know this but in many ways our art is not separate to us. It is part of us, and it is an extension or an invitation to others to understand and get to know us in often a very intimate way. So at any given moment, something is influencing our work. It could be walking softly across Country, feeling saltwater washing over our feet, or the how the moon dances light on the storm clouds. It could also be that shitty three-month situationship that almost ruined your life until you realised you've recovered from the love bombing hangover."

With both artists utilisng their art as a creative outlet and form of expression, the two new CASETiFY collections from Sarra and Engwicht are a reflection of not only their artistic abilities and talent, but their shared deep connection to country, culture and storytelling.
