Gwoonwardu Mia has celebrated the successful launch of a three-week "Creation and Culture" exhibition dedicated to celebrating the talents of 11 diverse Aboriginal artists from the Gascoyne region.
Gwoonwardu Mia soft launched the exhibition on Friday, featuring Aboriginal artists across a variety of mediums, including acrylics, ceramics, wood carvings, resin, weaving and photography.
Throughout the opening night, attendees were given the opportunity to engage with the artists, learn about the artists cultural influences, and the opportunity to purchase some of the artwork to take home.
Gwoonwardu Mia Regional Manager (Business and Strategy) Barry Bellotti said the exhibition has been created to "honour and promote local artists from various language groups, providing visibility and recognition of the artistic heritage and talent of Aboriginal peoples of the Gascoyne region".
Guests enjoyed an opening night hosted by Chef Mark Attard and the talented hospitality students from Jardilunji Mia café.
