Created to assist and support emerging First Nations creatives, this year Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative has joined forces with social enterprise Creative Plus Business to launch a new workshop; Pricing for Indigenous Creatives.
Pricing for Indigenous Creatives is a practical workshop covering the fundamentals of understanding the marketplace when charging for creative products and services.
With the question of 'What should I charge?' frequently plaguing artists, the workshop has been created to help.

Pricing for Indigenous Creatives is for any creative who may be struggling to understand the market value of their own work, and explores a variety of practical options for pricing, specifically designed for Aboriginal artists, makers and creatives.
The workshop will have a special focus on Aboriginal arts and cover everything from the beginnings of the process and working out how much everything costs to the psychology of pricing, and how it impacts on what creatives can charge for their work.
Participants will receive a lifetime access to a dedicated Dropbox folder full of additional resources and workbooks to help continue the learning after the workshop and access to additional free webinars, as well as the the possibility of further one-to-one business advice, mentoring and support.

Monica Davidson an award-winning expert on the creative industries, who began her professional life as a freelance journalist, performer, and filmmaker, will host the event.
Davidson has a Masters degree in Screen Arts and Business from AFTRS, and was appointed as Australia's first Creative Industries Business Advisor in 2013. In 2016 she founded the social enterprise Creative Plus Business, an organisation dedicated to educating creatives about small business skills, financial literacy and marketing.
Creative Plus Business is based in Sydney and is dedicated to educating creative people and arts organisations about business skills.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday the 17th of June from 11am to 1pm at Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative.
