Yamatji and Noongar actor Eloise Hart has been recognised with a Logie nomination, putting her in contention to become the youngest-ever recipient of the award.

The 10-year-old from Glen Iris, just north of Bunbury in Western Australia's South West, has been nominated for Most Popular New Talent at the 66th Annual Logie Awards.

Hart has been recognised for her roles in the ABC productions Goolagong and Mystery Road: Origin.

In Goolagong, Hart portrayed the childhood years of tennis great Evonne Goolagong Cawley. The three-part ABC drama tells the story of one of Australia's most loved sporting figures, who inspired generations of Aboriginal children through her achievements on and off the court.

The series has also been nominated for Best Miniseries/Telemovie.

Eloise said being nominated for a Logie for the characters she had played was "really exciting".

"Some of those stories remind me of the experiences my grandmothers and so many Indigenous families have lived through," she told the ABC.

"Others celebrate people like Evonne Goolagong, who showed generations of Aboriginal kids what was possible."

Her role in Goolagong followed her appearance in Mystery Road: Origin.

Eloise's mother, Tahlia Chesson, told ABC South West the nomination had been a major shock for the family.

"It's kind of been like a rollercoaster of emotions," Ms Chesson said.

"It's kind of weird to see your little person walking around and now she's all over the screen and now we're going to the red carpet, it's kind of a bit surreal."

Ms Chesson said she first found out about the nomination through a text message from a producer friend.

"The kids kind of walked in and freaked out because they heard me scream," she laughed.

"I told them what happened and I think we might have of scared a couple of neighbours."

Ms Chesson said Eloise was proud of the nomination, but did not yet fully understand the scale of the achievement.

"I don't think she realises how massive it is but I think she's just more excited to get dressed up and walk the red carpet."

For the family, the Logies will be a long way from their normal routine.

"We're just a normal little family that goes to the beach, that goes to Honeymoon... so now we're flying to all these places and going to big cities we've never been to - it's incredible."

Hart and her mother will travel to Sydney for the Logies in August.
