Founded by proud Warumungu and Luritja woman from Mparntwe/Alice Springs), Melissa Cole, Yaye is a beauty and skincare brand selling everything from Body Butter, Body Wash, Body Scrub, Bubble Bath, and more.
Being 100 per cent Aboriginal-owned, Australian made, vegan and cruelty-free and using ethically sourced Ingredients, Cole has created a brand which is beneficial to both skin and the planet.
Cole has announced she will be launching a new product in mid May. After revealing that the new product would be a luxurious Face & Body-oil, Style Up sat down with Cole to find out a little more about what consumers can expect from the new product.

"Red Ochre Face and Body Oil is Yaye's newest, luxurious, high-performance oil crafted to nourish skin and spirit. I created a face and body oil because I wanted something that wasn't just deeply hydrating, but also tied directly to Country, culture, and sustainability," Cole told Style Up.
"Oils deliver immediate relief to dry skin, and this formula is particularly special: it transforms over 5,000 tonnes of waste seeds into a skin-loving, active oil. Red Ochre Face and Body Oil is one of Australia's first beauty products to contain upcycled Red Velvet Oil. This breakthrough ingredient brings together luxury, environmental responsibility, and cultural connection."
Cole said the oil has been created for anyone who is eager to hydrate and nourish there skin, all while using a formula that is kind to both the skin and planet.
"Red Ochre Face and Body Oil is ideal for anyone who wants radiant, hydrated skin and values eco-conscious beauty. It's perfect for people with dry or dull skin, those seeking a clean, vegan, Aboriginal-owned skincare brand, and anyone who wants their beauty choices to support sustainability," she said.
"It's rich in Lycopene, phytosterols, and essential fatty acids, offering a powerful, natural alternative to traditional oils like Rosehip".

On how the product came into fruition, Cole said the journey has been both inspiring and creative from the start.
"This journey has been inspiring and creative from the start. I collaborated closely with my extract provider and formulation developer to source some of Australia's most sustainable oils, including Red Velvet Oil, Native Sandalwood Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil, and Hemp Seed Oil," she said.
"The oil's rusty red colour was a huge inspiration. It mirrors the ochre pits of Central Australia and shapes everything from ingredient selection to packaging design. I worked with a fantastic designer in New York to create warm, earthy packaging honouring the product's heritage and sustainability story.
"Four years into my business journey, I'm grateful to have built a strong support team that allowed me to move quickly and make sure Yaye would be among the first brands in Australia to showcase this groundbreaking upcycled ingredient. Every decision has been made to merge luxury with purpose."
Set to be available for pre-order in the middle of May this year, Cole said she is planning to launch the new body oil during NAIDOC Week.
"Yaye's Red Ochre Face and Body Oil will be available for pre-order in mid-May. We'll officially launch during NAIDOC Week with a special in-person and online event. We're inviting our community to join us online for a health-conscious celebration with expert insights, exclusive giveaways, and discount opportunities," she said.

Cole says it is set to be a busy 12 months with lots planned in terms of both products, projects and events.
"2025 is shaping up to be a transformational year for Yaye. Along with officially launching Red Ochre Face and Body Oil, we're pursuing exciting new partnerships and broader PR campaigns focused on sustainability, upcycled beauty, and Indigenous innovation," she said.
"I'm passionate about positioning Yaye as a leader in ethical, Aboriginal-owned beauty in Australia and internationally. As always, we'll continue to weave storytelling, sustainability, and cultural connection into everything we do."

Growing up in the heart of Central Australia, Cole developed a deep respect for the land, its resources, and the incredible women who have shaped her journey. It is this passion and personal influence that differentiates Yaye from other beauty and skincare brands.
"My years in education allowed me to collaborate with and learn from amazing women I fondly call my 'yayes' – my sisters. These women have been my strength and support, and they inspire me every day. I named my business Yaye in their honour," she said.
