NAIDOC Week 2025 will be marked across Queensland with a wide range of events celebrating Indigenous culture, identity and leadership.
This year's theme, 'The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy,' highlights the role of young people in continuing the work of past generations and shaping the future.
Caloundra – From the Sea, the Land and the Mountains Exhibition
Caloundra Regional Gallery is showcasing works by Kabi Kabi and Jinibara artists from 13 June to 3 August.
The exhibition features portraits by Kane Brunjes, shell midden-inspired works by Zartisha Davis, and screen-printed textiles by Jinibara artists including Jason Murphy and Uncle Noel Blair. Entry is free.
South Brisbane – First Nations Hip Hop Workshops for Kids
Queensland Museum Kurilpa is hosting dance workshops led by Georgie Baumann from 1–10 July.
Sessions cater to children aged 5–15, blending hip hop with cultural storytelling.
Some sessions are Auslan interpreted or low-sensory. Tickets are $15.
Online – NAIDOC Week Yarn with Red Dust
Red Dust will host a free public online panel discussion on 4 July focused on self-determination, legacy, and the future of First Nations communities.
Topics include cultural empowerment, intergenerational leadership, and allyship. Donations are welcome.
Birtinya – Blak, Proud & Next Gen Loud at The Station
On 4 July, The Station in Birtinya will host a live music event featuring Marranungu rapper J-MILLA.
The night will include food trucks, cultural pride and all-ages entertainment.
Tickets are $29 for adults, $15 for children, with free entry for kids under 10.
Cleveland – Redlands Coast NAIDOC Celebration
Raby Bay Harbour Park will host a free family-friendly cultural celebration on 6 July.
Activities include live First Nations performances, a smoking ceremony, weaving workshops, face painting and kids' entertainment.
Brisbane – Meals for the Mob Volunteering Program
FareShare and SecondBite are running a week-long volunteering program in Morningside from 7–11 July.
Participants will help prepare culturally appropriate meals for Indigenous communities.
Sessions cost $275 per person or per group of 20.
Milton – NAIDOC Week at Birrunga Gallery
Birrunga Gallery will host a Walking Breakfast and Cultural Experience on 7 July, followed by an exhibition opening that evening.
Both events highlight Cultural storytelling through art and feature works from Birrunga's Cultural Creative Development Program.
Tickets range from $47 to $62.
Ipswich – Family and Cultural Celebration
Tulmur Place will host a free NAIDOC celebration on 8 July, with live performances, Elder-led activities, arts and crafts, and children's entertainment from 10am to 2pm.
Brisbane – QTIC NAIDOC Corporate Breakfast
QTIC's annual breakfast event will be held on 9 July at Sofitel Brisbane Central.
Hosted by John Paul Janke with a performance by Zipporah Corser-Anu, the morning will focus on cultural leadership and storytelling.
Tickets are $135.
Gold Coast – NAIDOC Community Day
The Gold Coast Sports Precinct will host a free celebration on 9 July.
Activities include cultural performances, music, food stalls, interactive sessions, amusement rides, and appearances from local sports stars.
