Following her lively performance at Yabun Festival on January 26, Miss Kaninna has announced her debut New Zealand/Aotearoa Tour.

Commencing in March 2025, the tour will see the proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon and Yirendali woman perform headline shows in Auckland/Tamaki, Wellington/Poneke and Hastings/Heretaunga.

Miss Kaninna said she has been wanting to travel to Aotearoa since she was a young girl, sharing her excitement surrounding the upcoming tour.

"I have wanted to go to Aotearoa since I was a little kid! I have met so many staunch Māori people in my life and made so many beautiful connections," she said.

"I am excited to head over and learn from such a rich culture and have the opportunity to share my story from the other side of the ditch."

Having commanded stages across the nation, the talented singer's electrifying live performances have seen her secure coveted spots at some of Australia's premier festivals including Meredith Music Festival, Haydays Music & Arts Festival, Beyond the Valley, Wildlands, and Sun Cycle.

She also landed a spot on the national 2024 Laneway tour alongside Stormzy, Raye, and Steve Lacy, with further standout performances at the inaugural SXSW Sydney event - which earned her the inaugural Justin Cosby Award for Best Emerging Artist.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Miss Kaninna's follow-up single, Pinnacle Bitch - co-produced by YAOB (Baker Boy/Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis/Jerome Farah) - arrived as a club-ready call-to-arms, celebrating subversion and the freedom to be one's genuine self, adding to her discography of party music with fury and resistance at its core.

Using the stage as a platform to shed light on the oppression faced by First Nations people, Miss Kaninna has the ability to engage and entertain captivated audiences far and wide, with Pinnacle Bitch featuring on Apple Music's The Ebro Show, amassing 250,000 streams within months.

In 2024, Miss Kaninna had another career win, making history as the first Indigenous woman to be nominated for an ARIA Award for a debut single, nabbing three nominations for Blak Britney, with nods for Best Independent Release, Best R&B Track and Best Video.

Raised on the shores of Tasmania's Bruny Island, she has been commanding stages from a young age, carrying forward the storytelling of her ancestors and fearlessly bringing them into the present.

Her vocal art serves as a powerful expression of her experiences as a young Black woman, drawing from her rich cultural heritage and paths paved before her.

Fusing Hip Hop, Neo-soul, and R&B, Miss Kaninna strives to claim BLACK POP in Australia - and now New Zealand.
