Rising First Nations star Lindyn Rowland returns to the runway for Melbourne Fashion Week

Proud Wiradjuri and Waiben Island man Lindyn Rowland is no stranger to the spotlight.

Known for his vibrant energy and enthusiasm, Rowland returned to the runway for Melbourne Fashion Week last week.

Having acted as head stylist for Australian Fashion Week's Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway, presented by David Jones earlier this year, Rowland took prime position walking the MFW catwalk.

"I was honoured to be a part of this year's Melbourne Fashion Week in the Ganbu Marra Runway as a model, third year in a row. The feeling of being a part of this show is so powerful, every time," he said.

In addition to walking the runway as a model, Rowland also had his own brand - Rowland Vision - feature in the Volvo Electric runway, where models were accessorised with Rowland Vision's signature glasses.

When speaking on Rowland Vision and how the brand has progressed and shifted over the last 12 months, Rowland says there is lots still to come with new product range's soon to be added to the brand.

"There have been some crazy changes, and I'm really excited to see where this goes! I will say, there is more than eyewear and our Eau De Parfum (that we are working on) coming; keep an eye out though, there have been hints already," he said.

When discussing the evolving world of First Nations fashion and the shift towards contemporary culturally-crafted designs gaining traction with consumers, Rowland said: "I have noticed traditional practices mixed with our modern-day fashion, and that really excites me."

"I am always looking at what's next with Yanggurdi, the beautiful designer Aunt Cassie is always pushing this in her designs."

Rowland says he is eager to explore what opportunities come his way and bask in the the excitement of the unknown. Having recently returned from living overseas, Rowland is taking this time to settle back in and return home to Country.

"I really don't know what's next for me.. since moving back to Australia I have just been going with the wind, being booked and busy, and honestly, that has been working in my favour," he said.
