QShowcase: Arts Market + Conference opened in Logan on Tuesday with a First Nations gathering before artists, producers and presenters moved into a three-day program focused on touring opportunities across Queensland.
The event, presented by Stage Queensland and QTouring, is at Kingston Butter Factory and Logan Entertainment Centre under the theme 'Queensland Voices: Artists, Stories, Futures'.
QTouring is Queensland's arts touring and engagement service and uses the annual showcase to connect artists and producers with presenters and art centres.
Day one began at Kingston Butter Factory with the First Nations Gathering Ever Since I Was Young, supported by QPAC's Clancestry 2026.
The mob-only gathering brought First Nations delegates together before the formal opening and the first showcase session.
Birri, Kabi Kabi, Byelee and South Sea Islander woman Natalie Lingwoodock, QTouring First Nations Producer and Community Liaison, said the gathering created space for mob early in the event.
"We started with a mob-only event this morning, where we just got together to share and talk about the performing arts," Ms Lingwoodock said.
"We get together every year with presenters and producers and artists, working together to build a relationship so that people can get on the road touring around Queensland."

The first showcase session placed First Nations work alongside other tour-ready Queensland productions.
Ms Lingwoodock said First Nations work had a clear presence across the program.
"We have 26 to 27 artists and producers that will pitch their work to these presenters so that they can hopefully start to build relationships and build a touring circuit out of today," she said.
"We have four Blackfellas pitching this year, which is really exciting."
Inheritance by Toni Janke was presented as a live music and storytelling work exploring identity, resilience, cultural memory and what is passed between generations.
Karul Projects also presented Kuramanunya, a tribute to ancestral strength, spirit and the legacy of First Nations people.
The piece honours stories cut short through violence and dispossession, while recognising First Nations people as descendants of those who fought for land, family and identity.

JUTE Theatre Company will also appear in the day two program with a company update during Showcase Session Four, before taking part in producing-focused sessions and roundtables on day three.
The First Creatives will continue that focus on day two with a pitch for Ya'Djin Spirit Women, the first full-length production from the company.
Ewamian, Cobble-Cobble, Birri and South Sea Islander woman Allirah Fisher, founder and artistic director of The First Creatives, said the work had been developed over three years and was being pitched for a possible Queensland tour in 2027.
"Today I'm here pitching a work that's been developed over three years called Ya'Djin Spirit Woman and hoping to take it on tour in Queensland for 2027," Ms Fisher said.
Ya'Djin Spirit Women is a multidisciplinary, intergenerational production led by First Nations women.
It grew from the Ya'Djin Women's Collective, a grassroots sisterhood of First Nations women survivors of sexual assault and domestic and family violence.
The work draws on dance, theatre and film to speak to colonial violence, dispossession, abuse, motherhood, Blak joy, connection to Country and healing.
Ms Fisher said the pitch was about finding presenters who understood the process behind the work.
"Hoping to connect with like-minded presenters who want to invest in transformative and community-led First Nations work," Ms Fisher said.
"This work is a process. It's not just pop-up entertainment. It's about healing, it's about truth-telling, it's about sharing stories of our matriarchs that usually are told in dark rooms, counselling spaces and the back of churches, and putting them onto the big stage."
The broader program includes showcase sessions, sector updates, market lounge conversations, networking functions, keynotes and panels across the three days.
The event is designed to support touring outcomes for 2027 and beyond by bringing Queensland artists, producers and presenters into the same room to build relationships and plan future work.
