Gulu Gungganji and Girramay artist Ian Buller is set to release his new EP, 'Essence', on Friday 25 July, marking a new chapter in the emerging electronic music producer's career.
Known for blending piano house with mainstream EDM, Buller has steadily grown his profile through online releases, festival sets, and national radio play.
He was recently named among Triple J's top 10 First Nations artists to watch in 2025 and is a participant in the Mushroom Group's First Nations Pathway Program.
Buller said his journey into electronic music began as a teenager.
"When I was younger I was introduced to FL Studio," he told National Indigenous Times.
"My older cousin at the time introduced me to it and then I heard an artist back in the day called Avicii who blew up really big in the EDM world and I was inspired by him and created electronic dance music by hearing all of his music and that's where I get my inspiration from."
Buller has gradually built an audience after starting out on SoundCloud in 2015.

He released his debut album 'Persona' last year, which was inspired by Avicii and featured collaborations with international vocalists.
The project received attention from blogs, YouTube channels and national radio stations.
"I kept on releasing music over time and then the stream went up over time and then I wanted to release an album and that was 'Persona'," he said.
"They wanted to jump on a track with me, different vocalists, and it turned out pretty well and got featured in different places... then got airplay on Triple J and Amrap and everything turned out really well and then it led up to this point."
Buller's most recent single, 'New Beginnings,' was featured on the popular YouTube channel Pillow, which has over four million subscribers.
His 'Essence EP' is described as a step towards a more mainstream sound, incorporating influences from British EDM artist Chris Lake while maintaining Buller's signature piano-driven style.
"The inspiration behind it was actually from an artist I heard recently called Chris Lake... I heard it and got inspired by it and wanted to create something very similar but implement some of the sounds I usually use which is inspiration from Avicii," he said.
"A bit of a piano house and yeah, and try to go a bit mainstream with this EP."
Buller is scheduled to perform at Adelaide's Tarnanthi Festival in October and plans to continue releasing new music throughout the year.
"I got that coming up and probably more music coming up too that I'll be releasing over the months and weeks from that coming up," he said.
'Essence' will be available on major streaming platforms from 25 July.
