Djanaba has returned in 2026 with her electronic-pop single 'Buster'.
'Buster' follows her previous single 'Big Titties (Little Titties)', a collaboration with Beks that reworked her track 'Big Titties'.
For the new release, she teamed up with Gadigal-based electronic producer Hylander, leaning further into her electronic-pop sound.
Djanaba said the track came together quickly after arriving at the studio tired and short on time.
"After a long-ass work day, I pulled up to the studio late, exhausted, and with zero time to waste," she said.
"Hylander played the track, and the second it hit, I jumped on the mic. The ideas just poured out."
She said the song was written to call out men who expect more while doing less.
"I've been wanting to write a song that captures how little patience I have left for men who do the bare minimum, breathe, and somehow still expect more than the women doing twice the work," she said.
'"This song is my way of calling that behaviour out for what it is - and calling those men exactly what they are: DIRTY LITTLE DOGS."
With more than one million streams across her catalogue, the proud Queer Bundjalung woman has built a growing profile on the national festival circuit.
Recent live highlights include sets at Spilt Milk, Listen Out and Beyond The Valley, alongside a finalist placing in the 2025 NSW Music's First Nations Music Prize.
Hylander said the aim was to create something built for the dancefloor with a contrast between tone and message.
"I went into this wanting to create something fun and colourful with a strong dance element," he said.
"I brought Djanaba in to take a look at the idea and she started laying down the hook on the first listen.
"I love that this song presents a fun/cute aesthetic with subversive lyrics that give an entirely different meaning if you really listen."
She released her debut album Did I Stutter? last year to a warm reception.
Djanaba is set to play Laneway Festival shows in Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney in February.
'Buster' is available on all major streaming platforms now.
