The finalists for the 2025 Queensland Music Awards have been announced, with Indigenous artists Thelma Plum, Beddy Rays, JUNGAJI, and Sharron Mirii Bell among the leading nominees.

The awards will take place at The Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, 25 March.

Spanning 18 categories, the Queensland Music Awards (QMAs) recognise achievements across genres including blues, folk, pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, country, and electronic.

A panel of more than 100 Australian and international music industry professionals selected the finalists.

This year's multiple nominees include Redland Bay indie-rock group Beddy Rays, Indigenous singer-songwriter Thelma Plum, Grammy-nominated Tibetan artist Tenzin Choegyal, Gold Coast soul artist Beckah Amani, and songman JUNGAJI.

Several 2024 winners have been nominated again, including Jem Cassar-Daley, Sahara Beck, and Lottie McLeod.

For the People's Choice Award, the public will vote for Album of the Year, with Confidence Man, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Veronicas, Dune Rats, Amy Shark, and Sheppard among 35 contenders.

QMusic CEO Kris Stewart said the nominees highlight the QMAs' role in elevating Queensland's music scene.

"For 20 years, the QMAs have been a launchpad for homegrown artists, highlighting the extraordinary talent coming from all corners of the state," he said.
