The Kimberley Aboriginal Fashion Textiles Art will return Sunday, May 31, showcasing the work of several talented designers.
"Join us for an unforgettable evening of culture, creativity, and couture on Country The KAFTA Runway returns in 2026, showcasing an incredible line-up of Kimberley Aboriginal designers, each bringing powerful stories, identity, and innovation to the runway," read a statement made on the KAFTA Instagram.
The 2026 list of designers includes Jalayimiya, Yarraliny Designs, Mulardy Designs, Jaymee-Lee Chaqurbor, Shonte Molyneux, Halls Creek Jobs Pathways Hub, Bidyandanga Community - Five Tribes, MWW Night Space, Dusty A Touch of Magic x Myone, Kwobardak Beautiful Designs, nagula jarndu, Roxanne Dolby, Nangarri Designs and Bibi Nganju Designs.

Since its launch, KAFTA has grown to become an important platform for Kimberley designers, artists, and young people to develop and present their fashion and textiles to a regional audience.
One Broome's most popular fashion events, welcoming designers and creatives from across the Kimberley region, KAFTA's presence and popularity have continued to grow. With each year welcoming new creatives, designers and team members.
Beyond the runway, KAFTA usually includes a Pop-Up Fashion Fair, where attendees can purchase directly from Kimberley designers and creatives, along with a Gala event that celebrates both traditional and contemporary First Nations fashion.

Taking place as part of Broome Fringe Festival, the events to-date have presented Kimberley community-led experiences, showcasing 13 clothing collections, featuring 53 artists' work, engaged 78 young Indigenous models, and 52 Indigenous performers.
KAFTA is completely Kimberley-run; engaging local businesses to provide equipment and event services.
The KAFTA runway will take place at Broome Town Beach Jetty on Sunday, the 31st of May 2026.
