EverNow Festival is held on Wadjuk Country in Perth (Boorloo) in October, during the Noongar season of Kambarang. Inspired by the otherworldly place, land and culture of Western Australia, EverNow invites audiences into a rich dreamscape of spectacular installations, storytelling, dance, music and performance.
Last year, EverNow continued to honour Western Australia’s unique environment through three major free public events, each grounded in Noongar knowledge and artistic collaboration:
- Song Circle An immersive celebration of music, dance and light held at Burswood Park, Song Circle is a newly imagined Noongar-led futurescape which shares stories of the animals and environments found from Perth through the Great Southern and Esperance (Kepa Kurl).
- Boorna Waanginy - The Trees Speak Families, friends and strangers stroll a 1.4-kilometre tunnel of wonder through Kings Park and Botanic Garden. Spectacular 3D projections and mesmerising soundscapes tell stories of Western Australia’s beautiful South West region and its rich cultural history, calling on visitors to protect the land we share.
- From The Light Flow: Bena Koorliny (light travelling) Nature glows and flourishes in a series of dazzling towers of light, larger-than-life illuminations, flame and epic performance on the banks of the Derbarl Yerrigan. International sky theatre masters Groupe F light up Burswood Park with an Australian exclusive immersive experience created with leading Noongar artists.
